Languages and brain teasers

I have always loved languages and brain teasers, so following a doctoral programme in translation studies only seemed natural. I graduated from the University of Amsterdam in 1987 and found a job as translator/editor at a translation agency that specialized in IT.

Sounding board

The experience I gained at the translation agency was the perfect stepping stone to self-employment in 1991. Since then, I have gained a lot of experience and IT savvy at the advanced user level. The combination of technical, terminology and language knowledge means that I understand what my customers are talking about and can help them find the right solution.

Eye for detail

I also have experience proofreading and copy editing Dutch texts. It’s always helpful to have a fresh pair of eyes look at a text one last time to make sure all the i’s have been dotted and the t’s crossed. You can also send me your rough draft to polish up.
